The Kibbuz Beit Oren is situated right on the slopes of the Carmel mountain range and is lovingly referred to as “Little Switzerland” by the Israeli people. Kibbuz Beit Oren was almost wiped out completely when a devastating forest fire ravaged through it during December 2010.The Kibbuz inhabitants are in the process of coming to terms with the shockwaves they have endured, and are now planning their next steps towards rebuilding their community as quickly as possible.
They need new roofs over their heads, new furniture and appliances, and the ruined infrastructure needs to be rebuilt in order to restore some kind of normality to their lives. The cost of rebuilding their Kibbuz is estimated at around 18 million USD
